No matter how “Green” you are. If you drink too much alcohol the night before, a hangover the next morning is inevitable! Just look at the incredible hulk in this picture.
This week I’m delivering one of my all time favorite detox drinks. Over the past month I’ve been making one of these every morning as part of my daily routine, this will keeps you regular and provides you with a boost of energy every morning with the kick it has in flavours.
If you’re following an Intermittent fasting diet, this drink is just under 100 calories which stays within the rules of a IF protocol, for beverages allowed. Although, I wouldn’t recommend drinking more than 1 a day. It’s completely natural and loaded with fibre and antioxidants from all the plants that you use for this.
The other day I went to the food court for lunch with my colleague and I was convincing him not to get the his Greek chicken salad with a soda. My sarcastic humour told him that he may as well have ordered a bag of jelly bellys to wash his salad down.
I insisted that he drink water instead. His reasoning for his choice in soda was that water was too “boring”? I could tell my guilt trip kicked in, so he caved in and bought the water. As he was paying, he started to mumble how really wanted the soda, so before we sat down I asked the lady behind the counter if I could have a lemon. She looked at me odd, so she went to the back and got me one!
I told my colleague to try putting lemon wedges in your water to add some pizzaz to your daily fluid intake.
Are you tired of the same boring meals every morning? I know I am! Earlier this week I walked into the office and noticed my peers eating at there at their desks. What I saw was microwaved oatmeal, microwaved egg whites and kashi cereal.
So later that morning I walked over to them and started picking their brains to understand their decision-making process in meals. Surprisingly I got the same answer from the 3 people I asked. They made it because it was “easy, quick and healthy”. So I told them I would post a blog that shows them how to make an “easy, quick and healthy” meal for them that doesn’t involve using a microwave that destroys the molecular volume and kill the nutrients of their food, and is a lot more delicious than your boring meal.
I posted a link to the video at the bottom of my blog and it took me just under 6 minutes to make this meal in real-time.
It’s so simple to make. Not only is it extremely delicious but it’s loaded with protein, vitamins and fibre. Ideal for your morning meal.
Yesterday, Mega-Movie producer and fellow Canadian James Cameron made history again. Not for releasing another blockbuster movie, but for hitting the rock bottom, the lowest point in earth. Literally!
If you haven’t already seen the Instagram logo appear as one of the most downloaded photo apps in the app store, or if you haven’t seen your friends or people you follow, tweet or post with Instagram. How the heck did you find my site?!
Instagram is a photo sharing app that allows you to share photos with your friends/followers through this interface. It’s a viable replacement for a point and shoot that makes your everyday photos look wonderful by quickly transforming your photos in this easy to use format. Over 15 million users share photos in 17 different filters and it’s almost impossible to take bad photos using instagram.
Instagram is great to see what you’re friends are doing and if you’re a photography lover like myself it can be pretty entertaining. Over the last week I’ve been making my paleo inspired meals and have been using the instagram photo app to share what I’m eating and how to make my meals look a lot nicer than my real presentation.
I personally enjoy sharing my what I eat with my social network because it shows my dedication to eating healthy, and I want to help inspire as much people as possible to do the same and have fun with it. My 5 year goal is to release a cook book and online channel featuring my paleo inspired meals. I hope you enjoy my journey!
Last week, I purposely took a photo of the meals I ate that day. For each day I pretty much ate what you see throughout the day.
Take a look at my instagram meals of the week!
Spring weather in Toronto has been so warm that restaurant businesses are maximizing the early start to patio season. The weekends are when they make their killing and I know a lot of my co workers and friends plan on enjoying some “cold ones” outside in the sun. Some of them may be enjoying a few more than they can really handle.
Without a doubt, the worst part of getting drunk with your friends/co-workers is waking up with the “Hangover”. We all hate waking up with that headache that just won’t go away. Over the next few Fridays I plan on putting together a series of hangover cures that’ll help fix that pounding head, all the while keeping your healthy options in mind.
I walked into the office at 8AM this morning and everybody around me looked like they came from an audition for next seasons The Walking Dead or either a hard night of drinking.
I felt like I was the only one with a ton of energy and ready to go full steam ahead.
Don’t get me wrong. I used to be those guys who hit the snooze button 4-5 times before I made it into work. Even if I got 9-10 hours of sleep I’d still show up to work tired and rushing to the coffee machine.
Marketing and fitness magazines has taught us over the years that Gatorade and/or protein shakes are the best things to consume after a workout. They were both right!
It’s important to hydrate yourself with electrolytes after your workout to balance out your pH levels. Gatorade provides synthetic sugars and carbohydrates that also aid us to drink more, but also provide energy to our depleted muscles.
Just as important it is to fuel your body with carbohydrates after a workout. It’s essential to repair and re-build your muscles with protein. Liquid protein provides faster absorption and is a lot easier to digest than eating a can of tuna.
But have you ever mixed gatorade with protein powder? If so, you’ve probably know what “ass” tastes like by now.
However, with the supplement market today, the new artificial flavours of protein shakes and gatorade combined can get some pretty good flavours, with a few experiments.
Instead, I’ll make it easier for you! Here’s a simple smoothie recipe using natural ingredients that will make your gatorade/protein powder mix taste like toilet water.
What I’m about to show you is how I’ve mastered my own system of how to pack effectively and efficiently for the gym. I’ve emptied my bag out completely for you and am about to show you the most space saving and lightest way to travel.
Living downtown Toronto obviously has its perks, one disadvantage I find though is space. When I lived with my parents and drove to the gym it wasnt a big deal for me to pack a big gym bag because my car was an extension of my locker or gym bag. Now that I walk or commute everywhere I’ve learned to be somewhat of a minimalist and pack exactly what I need in a smaller more condensed space. Continue reading
For the past 10 years I’ve worked the “office job”.
Around the office, you hear the word “GROWTH” a lot. From company growth, to sales growth, department growth, the list goes on.
What I’ve noticed about the word “GROWTH” is that employees take it “literally”.
The reason I say this, is because I was a victim of getting fat from my office job. I started working at Dell computers in 2003 weighing in at 150lbs at around 9-12% body-fat. A year later I noticed I couldn’t fit into the same winter clothes I was wearing when I first started, my weight shot up to 185lbs, and I was too embarrassed to check my body fat at that time!
I was in my early 20’s, and my girlfriend at the time said she liked me “bigger”. A few months later we broke up, I realized that it was a lot harder for me to pick up girls and have confidence in myself because I didn’t even find myself attractive.
I had to make changes and make them fast as I was single again and back on the market.
Over the year’s I’ve also seen this happen to many of my co workers. Below is a list of my top 10 reasons employees get FAT at the office and how to avoid them.
The picture on the left was taken January 2011 after a few weeks of bad habits at the office (see list below), I weighed 165lbs. The Picture on the right was taken 90 days after I changed my lifestyle and habits at the workplace to get my body back in shape for the summer at a leaner and meaner 150lbs.
